⋆ DOLPHIN ANIMATION ⋆
A looping A5 riso-printed animation featuring a dolphin inside an ornate frame decorated with ocean-inspired elements. The dolphin’s design is based on medieval depictions found in old maps and architectural ornaments, where they were often drawn with long, twisting bodies and almost mythical features.
This piece was inspired by a pair of dolphin statues on a bridge I cross every day. For the longest time, I thought they were weird fish monsters—until I found out they were actually historical interpretations of dolphins! That discovery made me want to bring one of these creatures to life, imagining how it would move if it were the star of its own artwork surrounded by swirling, decorative elements that echo the movement of the sea.
